Fort Worth Refugee Team

McKinney, Keller Campus

Date Thursday, June 24, 2021 - Sunday, June 27, 2021

Leaders: Ginger Pelletier and Linda Savell
Team Members: Ages 8+ with a parent, 15+ without a parent. This is a perfect mission trip for first time missionaries, families, and those who can't leave the country for an extended period of time.
Cost: $475

Focus:
We have multiple different outreach events each month with refugee families in Fort Worth. Through a partnership with World Relief, this annual mission trip offers us an opportunity to immerse ourselves with these families for 4 days. We are able to build relationships and meet tangible needs through men’s, women’s and children’s outreach events. We also host a large festival with music, food, sports, games and a gospel presentation. Every year this trip looks different based on team member’s skills, talents, and passions and the current needs of the refugee community.

Accommodations/Meals:
The team will stay in a hotel in Fort Worth. Meals will be provided by the hotel and area restaurants.

All fundraising supplies and an online fundraising platform will be provided for you. You will be trained on fundraising techniques and given guidelines at your initial meeting. This is a critical faith-building part of the mission trip experience and if you are called to it and do your part, God will provide! Please do not let finances deter you.

Fundraising deadlines are not flexible. All payment amounts must be made by the posted date to retain your place on the team. Donations and payments are tax-deductible, but funds are non-refundable and non-transferable (except in the case of an immediate family member when ticketing has not already been finalized).

What is Covered?
Hotel, meals, training and fundraising materials, outreach costs, and a t-shirt.

Application Process:
Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed within a few days. An interview may be required with a team leader or Missions Department. Once your application is approved, you will need to schedule an onboarding appointment as soon as possible to complete paperwork and pick up fundraising supplies. Once you’ve met with a missions team member, you are free to start fundraising. Please do not start fundraising before that as specific guidelines are required for donors to receive tax deductions.

Additional Information:
Team training is a vital part of your mission trip experience and is required to be a part of the team. You will be given meeting dates at your initial appointment and will be required to attend at least 80% of the meetings. We have found that team members who prioritize meeting attendance are far more prepared and have a much more fulfilling and fruitful mission trip.
