FAQs

What will my student learn at camp?

Summer Camp 2023 will be unpacking the life of David in the Bible. Students will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and receive practical next steps in their relationship with God.

What should I pack?
  • Bible, Pen and Journal
  • Toiletries, and a Bath Towel
  • Twin Size Bedding or Sleeping Bag and Pillow (please place all bedding in trash bags)
  • Athletic clothes/shoes (appropriate clothes for the heat!)
  • Flashlight
  • Tribe Gear
  • Small slingback or backpack
  • Prescription Medications in original bottle (will be checked in during check-in process by parent only)
  • Snacks
  • Cash for Vending Machines
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Pack lunch for Wednesday trip to camp
  • Cash for lunch on the ride home on Sunday
What if my student is not able to attend the whole weekend?

Even if your student is not able to attend all of the camp, we would still love to have them be a part of it as much as possible. If a student is arriving late to camp, or leaving early from camp, we would simply need this time away form filled out to be able to coordinate drop off and pick up.

What if my student has dietary restrictions?

The camp does offer gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options that students can eat if they have dietary restrictions. On the registration, there is a place to let us know what restrictions your student has (if any).

What if my student has prescription medications?

We have medical professionals with us at camp that will keep your student’s medication with them in the camp’s secure health center and ensure that they are taking their medications at the time detailed in their registration.

What are tribes?

For our camps and retreats, we assign each small group a specific team that they will participate in competitive games and activities with. We call these teams “tribes.” Tribes have a specific color and mascot (i.e. the Blue Hurricanes, etc), and we encourage students and leaders to wear their tribe’s color throughout the week.

Why are there separate pick up times?

As a church, we value the next generation and believe in a bright future ahead. We want our entire church to see the impact that camps and retreats have in the lives of our students and have the opportunity to celebrate what God has done. We love having students and their families sit in the service with us to be a part of that special moment.

How do I know what tribe my student is on?

Tribes will be announced on our Instagram (@OurElevate) and through email on the week of camp.

Where can I find pictures from camp?

We post pictures throughout the week on our Instagram (@OurElevate) as well as to a Google photo album that we will send the link for as soon as it is available.

If I need to contact my student while they are at camp, what should I do?

One unique thing that we do at all of our camps and retreats is take up student’s phones before we leave . We want each student to have a distraction-free week of engaging with worship, messages, and small groups. If you need to contact your student while they do not have their phone, our team can be reached anytime at 682-593-3276.

What safety precautions will be taken?

Safety is a top priority for all of our camps and retreats. Each student is placed in a group with 8-10 other students and two leaders. These leaders are responsible for staying with the students throughout the week.

We will also have a medical team and a security team on site with us who will work around the clock to keep each student safe and healthy while we are at camp.

Every leader and volunteer that serves with us is thoroughly background checked, vetted, and trained by our team.

Is financial assistance available?

We want every student to be able to attend camp. If finances are a factor for your family, please fill out this form and our team will gladly help you in any way possible.

What if I have to cancel my registration?

We want every student to be able to attend camp, but we understand that things pop up sometimes! Partial refunds will be offered through May 25th, 2023, but no refunds may be offered within the two weeks leading up to camp. We apologize for any inconvenience.
